Walk With a Sister

On March 28 & 29, 2026 Sisters Network Triangle NC and The Legends will host the 6th Annual "Walk With A Sister" 2-day Half Marathon breast cancer benefit fundraiser.
Aligning the Legends’ passion with the Sisters Network’s mission to increase awareness of the devastating impact breast cancer has in the African American communities in and around the Triangle area, together we can make a difference as we “Walk With A Sister.

Meet Sisters Network Triangle NC

Sisters Network Triangle NC is a breast cancer support organization for African American women going through a breast cancer journey.  We are a volunteer organization run by survivors.  Our members include the newly diagnosed up to those surviving and thriving almost 50 years!  We walk with our sisters and caregivers as they navigate their complex and often confusing journey battling breast cancer.

Meet the Legends.

In 2020, we met some kindred spirits, The Legends, who despise breast cancer as much as we do. They are a group of friends who walk and raise funds for breast cancer in memory of their friend (Kim), who lost her battle to breast cancer in 2017.

Half-Marathon Walkers include:

Nancy Brim, Peter Carnell, Dean McCord and Marcella McCord, Tucker Deaton, Paula and Jim Morris, Jeremy Turnmeyer

Mile 0:

Mile 1: From Amos: For Margaret Smith, my mother's soul sister. Gone far, far too soon.

Mile 2: to my dear cousin Erin Harris: Erin is a stalwart ever-faithful mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend to all she encounters.
